Another classic villain from the pages of Marvel Comics may be joining the MCU soon. Marvel Studios' upcoming Moon Knight series, which will be exclusive to Disney Plus, has reportedly found one of its villains in Anton Mogart, who goes by the name of Midnight Man.

In the comics, Moon Knight stops Midnight Man fairly quickly, but that doesn't mean the show will write him off that fast or at all since Marvel Studios is known for taking creative freedom when it comes to its cinematic storytelling. This character can also just be a minor side role who helps progress the plot or leads viewers to the true main villain of the series, who will be played by Ethan Hawke.

The possibility of seeing Anton Mogart in the Moon Knight series was raised by a listing on the Hamilton Hodell talent agency website, which named the Marvel Studios show as one of the television credits for actor Gaspard UIlliel. As noted by Muphy's Multiverse, the page credited UIlliel as Anton Mogart/Midnight Man, though the listing seems to have been removed since then. In the comics, Midnight Man was a thief who usually struck at midnight (which is how he got the alias). After a deadly run-in with Moon Knight, Mogart is horribly disfigured and sets his sights on getting revenge.

Moon Knight in the Marvel comics

Often thought of like Marvel's answer to Batman, Moon Knight is also a mysterious street-level crime-fighter who operates during the night. Marvel has already explored the street-level heroes with Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones, which brought a darker take on the Marvel world than what is shown in the films. There's no telling if these characters will return in the near future, but with street-level heroes on the way such as Moon Knight as well as Mahershala Ali's Blade, anything is possible. Fans have been consistently waiting for Moon Knight to get his shine and it looks like this is coming closer to reality. It was announced a little while back that Oscar Isaac will be playing the titular character for this series, with Mohamed Diab set to direct episodes of the show.

Marvel Studios has been making its run on the small screen with WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and the recently released Loki. There are even more series set to debut down the line, including the much anticipated What If...? animated show. Many fans are also waiting to see if the other small-screen heroes such as Daredevil or Luke Cage will make a return to the MCU.

Though at times it seems like Marvel Studios is delaying what the people have been asking for, many are dying to see what the company has planned for the Fox properties that Disney acquired with the deal that transpired years ago. Fantastic Four and  X-men are the big two that will lead into some of the heavy-hitting storylines of Marvel's lore.
