A cinematographer for the upcoming Disney Plus series Moon Knight may have just confirmed that Oscar Isaac has been cast in the main role. Cinematographer Gregory Middleton, who has worked on projects like HBO's Watchmen, wrote on his Instagram, "Well the secret is out. It's an honor to be part of introducing a new character to the MCU #MoonKnight. Who says cinematographers worry about white costumes!...not if they are complex characters played by an amazing performer like @officialoscarrisaac. Thank you director Mohamed Diab and the #mcu for having me aboard."

Oscar Isaac was previously reported to be in negotiations to play the titular lead in Moon Knight, but no confirmation, or denial, followed afterward. Known for his role as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, he certainly has the action experience and acting chops to take on Moon Knight. While Oscar Isaac has yet to confirm himself, Gregory Middleton's post suggests a confirmation is imminent.

This wouldn't be the only time Oscar Isaac has starred in a Marvel property--he played the character of En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. However, this would be his first appearance as a character considered part of the MCU, and his first time as a hero. He wouldn't be the first actor who starred in Marvel properties outside the MCU before his MCU debut--with the most famous example being Chris Evans playing the Human Torch in The Fantastic Four before he became Captain America.

This is the first time Moon Knight has received a live-action adaptation, and the Disney Plus series will be his introduction to the MCU. The series will be developed and led by Jeremy Slater, a writer and producer who has seen successfully producing another comic book adaptation, The Umbrella Academy. In the comics, Moon Knight has enhanced strength, endurance, and reflexes, as well as carrying an arsenal of special weapons, similar to Batman's. He is also known for his erratic and unpredictable behavior. As of right now, how this will be portrayed in the television series is unknown.

Moon Knight isn't the only Marvel property introducing a new character from the comics into the MCU in the next few years. Disney Plus is also developing a Ms. Marvel TV series, which will star Iman Vellani as shapeshifting teenager Kamala Khan. The film Shang-chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings recently finished filming, marking not only the first appearance of the character in the MCU, but the first Asian lead in a Marvel film.

Moon Knight will be released on Disney Plus at some time in the future.
