According to Capcom, creating a Nintendo Switch port of Monster Hunter World would be a difficult task. Because the Switch offers such different capabilities to its players when compared to PS4, Xbox One, and PC (e.g. the Switch is portable and has built-in motion controls) it would be difficult for Capcom's development team to make the necessary adaptations. Even so, Capcom did not rule out a Switch version of the game altogether despite the technical challenges.

One development studio that seems more than willing to handle the Monster Hunter World porting duties is Iron Galaxy Studios. Adam Boyes, the CEO for the developer, took to Twitter to implore Capcom to consider hiring Iron Galaxy for the job. "We understand that porting the game to Nintendo Switch is challenging," wrote Boyes, "but this is exactly what [Iron Galaxy Studios] does."

Boyes closed out the tweet by saying that Iron Galaxy won't let Capcom down should the company "give us a shot." It should be noted that from 2007 to 2010, Boyes served as Capcom's director of production.

Many Monster Hunter fans were delighted to see Boyes' tweet pop up in their timelines and the replies to the tweet are full of excited fans urging Capcom to hire Iron Galaxy. By handing off porting duties to an external team, the core Monster Hunter World team would be able to continue working on the game's post-launch quest schedule without having to juggle the resources necessary to handle this additional project. Not to mention, Capcom is also working on a PC version of Monster Hunter World which is due out later this year.

Iron Galaxy's porting and development work can be seen in several major releases over the past few years and it also supported the Nintendo Switch version of Skyrim, which critics largely agree runs well on the console despite it being an aging game. The studio also supported the development of Destiny on PS3 and Xbox 360, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on PS4 and Xbox One, and Killer Instinct Season Two for Windows PC and Xbox One.

It's also worth mentioning that the developer also worked on the notorious PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight, which had to be taken off sale due to its severe technical issues. Although the Arkham Knight scandal was almost three years ago, many still remember it and it remains a significant blot on Iron Galaxy's track record. Ultimately, though, Iron Galaxy Studios has a strong track record with ports and may be the partner Capcom is looking for.

Monster Hunter World is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release planned for later this year.
