Gamers out adventuring in Monster Hunter World already had a chance to obtain an outfit stylized as Ryu from Street Fighter, a collaboration that surprised few given Capcom's extensive crossover history. The studio stated that three quests to unlock a similar Sakura-inspired outfit would eventually be rotated in, and Capcom has now spilled the beans on when gamers will be able to unlock this outfit in Monster Hunter World.

Gamers following a particular set of steps could obtain the Ryu gear set until March, but there has been a noticeable gap between Ryu's challenges and Sakura's rotation. Capcom has now announced that the quests to obtain Sakura's gearset will run from May 3 to May 10, meaning gamers will have to act quickly if they want to dress up like Sakura as they slay beasts.

Much like Ryu's armor, it is expected that Sakura's armor must be worn as a complete set with no room for custom items outside of her traditional garb. It's also expected that the Sakura outfit will be a low rank set of armor, much like Ryu's.

Players attempting to collect the armor will need to be at an HR level of 12 or higher, with both genders able to collect and don the armor. While Ryu's armor set came with purchasable Hadoken and Shoryuken gestures for $3.99 apiece, it's not known if Sakura's armor will have some gestures unique to her own character. In any event, players will also be able to pick up a guild card and stamp set at no extra charge.

Of course, this collaboration isn't a one-way street. Gamers hopping on to Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition can unlock costumes for Ken (Rathalos), R. Mike (Zinogre), and Ibuki (Kirin) by completing week-long challenges to unlock the individual outfits. These costumes have alternating availability each month, so gamers just attempting to unlock them now are already starting off behind.

Monster Hunter World just received a significant world update which unlocks a new location called The Caverns of El Dorado, a brand new high-profile monster called Kulve Taroth, a new game mode called Siege, and plenty of other adjustments and bug fixes. It's a busy time to be a Monster Hunter player, especially for those planning to pick up the Sakura armor in May.

Monster Hunter World is now available for PS4 and Xbox One. A PC version is set to release this fall.
