Since it's release, Monster Hunter World has seen event after event introduced to the game. Among these events have been a few Street Fighter-related Crossovers with the most recent allowing players to obtain Sakura's armor. Now Monster Hunter World is giving players the opportunity to acquire Ryu's armor again. Only this time, it's high rank and far more powerful.

Previously, Ryu's equipment was available through players completing the arena mission 'Down the Dark, Muddy Path,' which was available from the Arena Lass in the Gathering Hub. The mission had hunters face down a low rank Barroth, however the armor gained through this mission was low rank making it fairly weak against high rank hunts and elder dragons.

As stated before, the new Monster Hunter World set of Ryu's attire is high rank and much stronger, but that also means getting ahold of it is going to be much more difficult. As with most other events, players have to complete arena missions available in the Gathering Hub in order to collect a reward item called SFV Ticket III.

The missions in question are under the Challenge tab when speaking with the Arena Lass and are labeled The Awakened Satsui No Hado I, II, and III. Each of the three arena challenge quests will pit hunters against a Nergigante. As with all other challenge quests, the targeted monster will have its strength scaled as if two players were hunting it. This makes taking on the powerful Nergigante solo extremely difficult so it's highly advised that players grab a friend to take the monstrous elder dragon down.

It actually doesn't matter which of the three players choose to complete as they are all repeatable and their only differences are which weapon and gear sets are available. Finishing a quest will reward a number of tickets based on the ranking, with an A rank giving 3, B rank giving 2, and C rank giving 1. Only 4 SFV Ticket IIIs are required to craft the entire set of Ryu's high rank armor. The rest of the crafting materials for the gear set include:

  • 5 Hunter King Coins
  • 6 Immortal Dragonscales
  • 1 Rathalos Plate

With all the tickets and crafting materials in hand, just head on over to the Smithy and craft the high rank Ryu gear under the Full Armor Sets tab. Because the set itself is rank 7, the defense on it is actually very high. It also doubles as a Rathalos armor set providing both Rathalos Mastery set bonuses meaning hunters that like elemental weapons might want to check this set out. It also comes with a very hefty 9 decoration slots, with one of those being level 2 and one being level 3, making customization extremely possible.

This is certainly another addition for Street Fighter fans to get psyched up about. Capcom has not been shy about pumping out themed gear sets and quests for player to enjoy. Even Dante and Mega Man have recently made appearances. So be sure to keep an eye out on future Monster Hunter: World events.
