It can be easy for those unfamiliar with the Monster Hunter series to underestimate its selling potential. Capcom's action-RPG franchise has been something of a sleeper hit each time it has been released in the west, largely due to the platforms it has appeared on - Monster Hunter's international releases have largely been for the PSP, Nintendo 3DS, or Nintendo's Wii and Wii U consoles. While each of those platforms has enjoyed a sizeable userbase at the peak of their popularity, the restricted releases and jump between Sony and Nintendo made it difficult for early fans to continue with the series.

That's what makes Monster Hunter World such a big deal for Capcom - it's the first time the developer is really making the leap and attempting to create mainstream, multi-platform success for an internationally-released Monster Hunter game. Capcom is well aware of the significance of this event, too, as the company has been releasing a steady flow of information to fans to make sure anticipation for Monster World remains high. That trend continued earlier today, as Capcom unleashed 14 different combat trailers to showcase Monster Hunter World's weapons. Check out one here:

The full list of trailers, complete with links, can be found here, and the weapons demonstrated in each video are incredible in action. The fluidity of Monster Hunter World's gameplay has been something truly special in demonstrations so far, and it appears Capcom will be preserving the series' trademark style of flashy, anime-esque combat motions that help make each fight feel epic. That, coupled with the huge number of differences present in combat involving each weapon, should help make approaching Monster Hunter World something a lot less daunting for new players interested in the series' leap to the current generation of consoles.

Since its E3 2017 revealMonster Hunter World has been slowly gaining momentum by exhibiting refined gameplay and beautiful graphics. While the former has always been a staple of the series, the latter is something only made possible by the transition to modern consoles and PCs, and it remains to be seen if a new shine on the Monster Hunter franchise is all that was required to make it the juggernaut in the west it has always had the potential to be.

Monster Hunter World is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will release sometime in early 2018.
