Thanks to the high quality of the content found in the base game, and due to Capcom’s continual post-launch support, there’s no doubt that Monster Hunter World deserves its spot on our list for the top games of 2018. Even so, it looks as if one fan decided that the action-RPG was missing a bit of Disney magic, so they figured it would be best to supplement the PC version with a mod that adds The Lion King's protagonist Simba to the game.

Thanks to the work of the Nexus Mods user dubbed UberGrainy, Monster Hunter World players on PC can now download and apply a mod that turns the game's fiery Elder Dragon known as Teostra into the adult version of The Lion King's Simba. As if that weren't wacky enough, a video from the YouTuber known as Weiss Gaming not only shows gameplay of a Hunter doing battle with Simba as Teostra, but also it depicts a cutscene involving The Lion King character scrapping with Thomas the Tank Engine.

While UberGrainy's The Lion King mod for Monster Hunter World is technically an unofficial addition to the game, it's worth noting that Capcom has included updates in the past which have actually brought sanctioned crossover content to the title. For instance, the publisher and developer previously teamed up with Square Enix to add Final Fantasy 14 Online's Behemoth as a monster that can be fought in the game.

All things considered, it's safe to presume that we won't see Disney license any of its IPs to Capcom for use in Monster Hunter World any time soon, especially since the company already has the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 to promote. Nevertheless, stranger things have happened, and the mass media conglomerate certainly has no shortage of stellar beasts and villains that would serve as great antagonists for MHW.

Monster Hunter World is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
