Today, during Square Enix's E3 press conference, it was revealed that there would be a Monster Hunter World x Final Fantasy 14 crossover, with Rathalos playing a prominent role in the reveal trailer. However, the exact details of the MHW content appearing in Final Fantasy 14 are unknown, though a new emote was shown, and the lack of any crossover armor would be a huge missed opportunity. The event is scheduled to take place in Summer 2018, so fans don't have to wait long.

Moreover, sometime after the Square Enix conference, a video leaked that revealed Final Fantasy 14 content that as coming to Monster Hunter World also in Summer 2018. However, for whatever reason, the video was taken down soon after release, with many hoping the video returns during Sony's press conference.

As seen in this voiced-over video below, the crossover is providing Monster Hunter World fans with the chance to gather friends and hunt one of the most iconic Final Fantasy monsters in the franchise: The behemoth, which was first introduced in Final Fantasy II. A Cactaur is also shown in the video below, and hopefully, there will be even more coming to MHW. As soon as something is officially announced, expect to see the real reveal here.

This version of the Behemoth should provide hunters with solid combat and good loot, so be on the lookout. For hunters who need a new challenge now, the action role-playing game has recently introduced the Elder Dragon Lunastra, which may provide a distraction until this crossover event goes live.

Hopefully, when it is officially announced, there'll be more coming to Monster Hunter World other than the above, but regardless, the Behemoth Hunt is reason enough to return to MHW this summer. Sony's E3 2018 press conference begins at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, and while the gaming giant may very have a lot of surprises prepared, this may not be one of them. That does not, however, make it any less exciting.

Good luck out there, hunters, and stay tuned in for more E3 news!

Monster Hunter World is available now for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
