Monster Hunter World has seen a decent amount of new content since its release in January, with the Spring Blossom event currently in full bloom. It now seems more content is on the way with this week's update, according to the game's developer.

Posting on Capcom Unity, Monster Hunter World's developer announced that a new elder dragon, as well as a new game mode, would be making their way to the game this week on April 19th. The new elder dragon's name is Kulve Taroth and is a lumbering beast who has a penchant for gold, covered by large chunks of it that are said to be comprised of relics.

The new game mode being added is called Siege. Both will only be available for a limited time, though no end date was given.

Of course, with a new monster being added, there will be new weapons and armor sets that can be made from Kulve Taroth parts. Some pictures of the new armor and some weapons were shown; however, there was no information on what specific weapon types would be getting new pieces. Deviljho, the most recent monster to be added saw each of the 14 weapon classes get a new design.

Siege, the new game mode, will see players in the same gathering hub working together to bring down the same Kulve Taroth. While hunting parties are still capped at 4 players, each group's progress on the monster will go towards the whole lobby's overall progress. This means any tracks found or any parts that get broken off of Kulve Taroth count towards that goal.

This new update marks the second significant content update the title has received since its launch in January. The previous one being the aforementioned Deviljho update that included the monster and its corresponding weapons and armor. Of course, there has also been a multitude of events and limited time quests that have come out as well, usually changing weekly.

The most recent of these is the Mega Man crossover event, which will unlock a pixelated Palico costume that makes a player's feline pal look like the Blue Bomber himself. Prior events have included other crossovers, such as Horizon: Zero Dawn and Street Fighter content. There is even a Devil May Cry crossover event which starts April 27th.

Monster Hunter World is now available for PS4 and Xbox One, with the PC version set to be released this fall.
