The returning terrors Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios are finally loose in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne after being announced during PAX East at the beginning of March. While their arrival was penned for today on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, the Version 13.00 update including the monsters went live Sunday.

Veteran hunters should be all too familiar with the infamous monsters and their variant forms that are always in a more powerful, enraged state; Rajang hailing from 2006's Monster Hunter 2 and Brachydios from 2011's Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. The newly added monsters will "appear in new special assignments" after completing the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion's main story and unlocking the tundra region of the Guiding Lands according to the Version 13.00 Patch Notes.

Alongside the Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios, the third major title update for Capcom's hugely successful action game includes a raised level cap for master rank armor upgrades, "an item" that forces a monster to leave the Guiding Lands, new decor and background music for the player's room in Seliana, and more powerful charms. A whole host of bug fixes and balances to text, item management, as well as monster and player interactions are also listed in the Patch Notes.

The update will go live for PC Iceborne players on April 9 according to the Monster Hunter Twitter account. That version of the game was not released until this year, and Capcom released a roadmap for its staggered updates meant to bring every player up to date in January. According to that roadmap, console and PC versions will be synced following the addition of these returning variant monsters.

Once every version of the Iceborne expansion is synced up, the game will start moving toward its fourth free title update. This weekend it was announced that Monster Hunter 3's endgame Elder Dragon Alatreon will be a part of this update coming sometime in May.

When Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios are added to the PC version of Iceborne on April 9, the spring-themed "Full Bloom Fest" event will begin. Good news for Monster Hunter fans stuck in quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic who can look forward to plenty of content coming their way soon.
