Monster Hunter World Reveals Iceborne DLC Monsters, Release Date

Today, Capcom has officially released Monster Hunter World's Witcher event to PC players after having provided PlayStation 4 and Xbox one players with access to the crossover contents several months ago. While PC players are catching up on some of the game's latest post-launch wares, MHW's publisher and developer has decided to provide fans on all platforms with a better idea of when the title's long-awaited Iceborne expansion will be coming out, as console players will receive it on September 9, 2019, and PC fans will get it sometime "this winter".

In addition to confirming the release date for Monster Hunter World's Iceborne DLC, Capcom also released a fresh trailer detailing the expansion's content during today's Sony State of Play live stream. During the footage, MHW fans were able to get a look at a brand new snowy environment to explore, as well as some of the monsters that they will be able to encounter once Iceborne goes live later this year.

For starters, the new footage for Monster Hunter World's Iceborne DLC features a battle against a giant and powerful moose-like monster with massive antlers capable of ramming players and lobbing huge environmental hazards at them. What's more is that the trailer features a look at another new monster that looks somewhat like a shark and wields a razor horn that lets it burrow and travel underground.

In addition to the new monsters in Monster Hunter World's Iceborne DLC, the trailer also highlights returning creatures such as Nargacuga. Not to mention, there's even a new Elder Dragon for Monster Hunter World players to go toe-to-toe with called Velkhana. To wrap things up, the end of the trailer displays a Palico sidekick utilizing what seems to be a new ability that allows the cat-like partner to revive the player character.

Beyond the contents provided in the trailer from Sony's State of Play live stream, not much else is known about Monster Hunter World's Iceborne DLC other than the fact that it will be a "massive expansion" with a new story that is going to be a paid add-on. As of writing, though, no exact price has been shared, but that along with more details will hopefully be unveiled during Capcom's Monster Hunter World Spring Developer Update.

Monster Hunter World is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
