The Odogaron of Monster Hunter World is a fearsome beast with a powerful jaw and blood-rending claws. Considering Capcom has sold over 1 million physical copies of the game in Japan alone, it seems safe to say many gamers have encountered this beast, and some may need a little help. From the best weapon to the best element, here’s everything needed to take down this powerful beast.

First off, it’s located in the Rotten Vale section of Monster Hunter World. The map is small in comparison to other maps, so finding the Odogaron shouldn’t be much of a problem. It is almost guaranteed to be near the central camp, and if possible, let it fight the Great Girros. Odogaron is a volatile beast and willing to fight anything, and the Great Girros has a powerful stun ability that can be used to the hunter’s benefit.

While big weapons can stun the Odogaron if an attack hits its head, they can put the hunter at a disadvantage. The Odogaron quickly runs around the battlefield, meaning that slower weapons leave an opening for the beast. Instead, try using a quicker weapon such as the Dual Blades, Bow, or Light Bowgun. Another key to combat with this creature is to dodge efficiently; the monster has a bleeding effect that can render the hunter practically useless.

To get rid of the bleeding status, hunters have to put away their weapon and crouch until their health is restored. Considering the Odogaron is all over the battlefield, getting a safe distance away is tough. However, dodging can help avoid this, and elements can help turn the battle to the hunter’s favor. Electricity and Ice are the best elements to use, with Electricity having a slight advantage over Ice due to its stunning effect. With these tips, a fledgling hunter should have a better chance over the Odogaron.

After beating the Odogaron, do not forget to gather materials from the monster. After all, Odogaron armor is the best armor to get in Monster Hunter World. With the right strategy, weapon, and element, the Odogaron should fall easily to the hunter. Happy Hunting!

Monster Hunter World is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, with an fall 2018 release schedule for PC.
