This week, Capcom updated its Monster Hunter World March quest schedule, confirming that there will be plenty of new opportunities to get crowns and boost Hunter Rank experience. But alongside new event quests and hunts, Monster Hunter World also have something else to look forward to: the Monster Hunter Official Guidebook.

Amazon's listing says the 1,008-page guidebook features a ton of Monster Hunter World information, including a collection of weapon data for over 1,000 weapons (it shows all upgrades, attack power, sharpness and more), a complete set of information on the game's quests (as well as rewards for monsters in Free Quests), and data about armor including different armor series and skills.

That's not all, though, as the Monster Hunter World guidebook will also include plenty of tips and tricks that sound useful for series newcomers and veteran fans alike. For example, the book will touch upon monster weaknesses and their attack characteristics, recommended combos for a range of different weapon types, and data on over 690 different materials including where to find them.

The Amazon Japan page also states that the guidebook will be released in Japan on March 24th for 2,916 Yen (equivalent to approximately $27). Thankfully, the retailer does ship internationally, but it's unclear how much shipping will cost.

Surprisingly, fans' response to the news of the guidebook has been split. On the one hand, many Monster Hunter World fans are delighted at the prospect of picking up such a significant piece of merchandise for the game. Players do seem pretty committed to showing off their love and appreciation for the game (the recent recreation of the game's food in real life is one such example) and the enthusiasm for the guidebook is a reflection of that.

On the other hand, fans are wondering whether it would be more convenient for Capcom to release an app version of the guidebook instead. Many fans have already turned to YouTube videos to learn how to do everything from dealing more damage to sleeping monsters to getting specific items or pieces of armor, and a giant guidebook may not be the most efficient way of finding that information.

Monster Hunter World is out now for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version releases in fall 2018.
