Fans of Capcom's massive selling title, Monster Hunter World, got a ton of great information in the past 24 hours with upcoming content. Not only are fans getting new crossover events with iconic Capcom IPs, but the highly anticipated addition of Deviljho is right around the corner. Capcom is also planning a number of changes and updates to the experience and while many of them should please players, one, in particular, may not prove to be very popular with the community.

While the original details of the March 22 update for Monster Hunter World appeared on the Japanese website Famitsu early, Capcom later confirmed everything via its livestream. Along with the addition of Deviljho and various other tweaks, the update also gives players the chance to change their character's appearance. After the update, players need to use tickets in order to re-customize their characters.

While the first ticket is free for everyone, subsequent edits will require the player to spend money in order to purchase additional tickets. Essentially, Capcom has chosen to monetize this aspect of the game, turning this character customization process into paid DLC. While some fans will no doubt be unhappy with this change, one could argue that with all of this free DLC being added into an already robust game, Capcom needed to find a way to monetize some aspect of the experience.

What might be most concerning about this character redo ticket is that Capcom is adding new hair styles with the spring update, and presumably will add even more in the future. Hair styles don't require a full redo, but what happens when Capcom adds something that does? Will the company give players another ticket or force them to pay?

Even though character customization is changing, fans can still deck their characters out in some truly outrageous armor or turn them into different characters entirely. While fans have already had a chance to earn outfits from Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist Aloy and Street Fighter's Ryu, Capcom recently announced even more crossover content. Players can earn a special charge blade inspired by Dante's weapons from the Devil May Cry series, as well as a special Dante outfit. After being announced last year, the special Mega Man event has also been dated, with the palico armor arriving on April 13.
