Shakalaka can be found in Monster Dens and Everdens in the Terga region. Players will come to this area after their adventures in the Lamure region around the Felyne Shelter area. The hidden village of Nua Te is in the Terga region, and players should visit that settlement before hunting down any Shakalaka. Doing so will allow new quests to be accepted and give access to a convenient Prayer Pot for refreshing exploration bonuses.
Shakalaka are very tiny humanoid creatures. Players exploring dens searching for Shakalaka might have a hard time spotting the things, especially while riding atop certain large Monsties. With enough perseverance, any Rider will eventually come across a den housing some roaming Shakalaka.
Shakalaka are much weaker than most monsters. Even so, they can be a bit troublesome. They use Technical Attacks, which means that players should use Power Attacks for a quick win. Where the trouble kicks in is when Shakalaka inflicts Powerseal on the player's party. But even under that limitation, victory will come swiftly to Riders who exploit a Shakalaka's vulnerability to blunt attacks with a Hammer or Hunting Horn.
Many players are sure to be eager for Shakalaka materials from early on in Monster Hunter Stories 2. The temptation of hunting down the critters to craft Zinogre weapons is powerful indeed.
