Although it is an unusual currency for the world of Monster Hunter, players can use bottle caps to get all sorts of unique items in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. These can be traded with Melynx Inc. merchants in order to obtain special gear and items. That said, players won't get bottle caps just by progressing through the story and fighting monsters like Anjanath, so they will instead need to seek them out. These bottle caps spawn in set places, though, making them easy for players to find and gather up quite a bit of them. There are also ways to farm them infinitely.

Bottle caps cannot be used at any merchant other than those affiliated with Melynx Inc. In order to purchase items and upgrade gear normally, players will use Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin's  Zenny currency that they are used to. This can be obtained by looting chests and completing quests, but bottle caps are slightly different.

The best way to find bottle caps in Monster Hunter Stories 2 is in Everdens. These are much like standard Monster dens in the game except that they are always in the same location and do not spawn randomly. These also look different from standard dens, so players shouldn't have any problem spotting them. Once inside, be sure to search the entire cave thoroughly, as there will be a variety of different crafting materials and quite a few bottle caps in each one. There are multiple Everdens in each area, so don't stop looking after finding just one.

How to find bottle caps in monster hunter stories 2

In order to find Everdens, players will want to use the Riding Skill called Nest Search. Monsties like the Kula Yaku have access to this skill, and using it will highlight any nearby dens on the map. This will not only help players find Everdens to get bottle caps but will also help them locate regular dens and potentially get new Monstie eggs. After obtaining some bottle caps, head back to a Melynx Inc. merchant and see what's for sale. The offerings at these stores often include things that players can't get normally through the game, as well as certain permanent upgrades to the stables and cosmetics players can use to change their character's appearance in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Aside from these Everdens, players can also earn bottle caps by completing certain quests. Check the quest board for multiplayer quests and single player quests and there should be some quests that offer bottle caps as a reward, and these can be done indefinitely. Between this and finding Everdens, it shouldn't be too much trouble for players to get enough bottle caps.
