Monster Hunter World has launched its Spring Blossom Festival, which includes an opportunity to replay all event quests, collect some new emotes, and enjoy a change of scenery in Astera. The event will run from now until April 19th, so players have plenty of time to get in on all the fun.

The biggest selling point for the Spring Blossom Festival is the event quests, which are all active for Monster Hunter World. Players that might have missed out on a unique piece of gear, like the Shadow Shades, can now complete the quest and craft the reward. This is also another chance to get the Street Fighter Ryu crossover gear if players missed out the first time around.

On top of that, the Festival signals the return of the Tempered Deviljho event quest, which gave players plenty of trouble the first time it released. Perhaps now that players have a better understanding of how to fight Tempered Deviljho, they will have a little more success.

The other major addition for the Spring Blossom Festival is the release of the Wyvern Ignition “Impact” greatsword. This greatsword was designed by a fan prior to the release of Monster Hunter World and was the winner of a contest. Now it is in the game for all to use.

As can be expected, the Wyvern Ignition’s design is a sight to behold. Essentially it’s a greatsword with rockets for added thrust for each hit. Unfortunately, the rockets don’t impact damage, although the weapon hits plenty hard already.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a Spring Blossom Festival without some spring-themed items. Players can acquire new gear for their hunters and their Palicos by spending Blossom Tickets. These tickets are earned as part of the daily login bonus and they are a reward for completing bounties. In total, players will need 23 Spring Blossom Festival tickets in order to craft everything the event has to offer.

It may not bring any new monsters or quests, but the Spring Blossom Festival seemingly offers players some small incentives to return to the game. The new sword is going to be a big draw for greatsword users, but the return of all event quests is likely the most significant reason to return. From farming money to farming tempered elder dragon investigations, this is an opportunity to prepare for the long haul.

Monster Hunter World’s Spring Blossom Festival is live until April 19th on PS4 and Xbox One.
