Monster Hunter Rise launched a few weeks ago on the Nintendo Switch and Capcom has seen massive success for the latest entry in the action-RPG series. The Japanese developer/publisher revealed just this week that the title has managed to ship a whopping 5 million units, which is nothing to scoff at.

However, even though players and critics have been praising Monster Hunter Rise for its streamlined mechanics and overall quality of life improvements, there has been a nasty game-breaking bug appearing for some players. The bug in question caused the save data to be inaccessible for Monster Hunter Rise players that tried to set the Action/Hurt Pose sets to the action bar or the radial menu. Thankfully, Capcom has addressed the issue with a new patch that released today for Switch players that fixes the issue, among a few other things.

Capcom released patch update ver 1.1.2 today and is available to download now for all players. The patch addresses several odd bugs and glitches such as a few related to the player's owl companion, Cahoot. There's also a fix for players using the upwelling wind at the Lava Caverns. It apparently would cause players' controls to stop responding if the action was performed in a certain way. The patch is fairly small in size and should take players no longer than 5 minutes to fully download and install, so there's no need to worry about losing precious game time with friends.

If players don't have access to the internet to download the patch, they'll still be able to play the game solo via the Village quests, but they won't be able to connect with players online. However, if players share the same game version, they can still play together via local play.

Here's a list of the patch notes for players to check out down below via Capcom:

Base/Facility

  • Fixed a bug causing the controls to stop responding when you sit down on a bench in the village and use the "Call Cohoot" gesture and perform certain actions.
  • Fixed a bug causing menu options to be inaccessible when you enter the Gathering Hub with your Cohoot on your arm and sit down on a bench and open the Gestures menu.

Player

  • Fixed a bug causing the controls to stop responding under certain circumstances when you receive a Join Request while riding a Canyne set to your second Buddy slot.
  • Fixed a bug causing the controls to stop responding when receiving and accepting a Join Request while climbing a wall at the Training Area on the back of a Canyne set to your second Buddy slot.
  • Fixed a bug causing save data to be corrupted when you try to continue the game from the Title Menu after quitting the game while having the Attack Pose Set and Hurt Pose Set equipped to the Action Bar or the radial menu. You will now be able to resume your game with the save data in question.
  • Fixed a bug causing controls to stop responding when performing certain actions after using an updraft (upwelling wind) at the Lava Caverns. Fixed a bug causing an error when changing Switch Skills at the item box using certain game data.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed a bug preventing the software keyboard from being displayed when you try to change the minimum HR when searching for an online Lobby.
  • Other bug fixes.

Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch and a PC port is expected to launch in early 2022.
