The latest Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak digital event has just concluded and players now know the exact release date of the game’s free Title Update 4. Fans were also given a sneak peek on the new monsters being added to the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak roster as well as new endgame and paid downloadable content.

It has been a few months since the free Title Update 3 of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak was launched. Though the game was recently released for next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, no new content was added to the action RPG to celebrate the occasion. However, most fans will likely recall that the development team prefers to utilize the free title updates to add new monsters, features, or fixes into Sunbreak. This is likely why the fourth one has been highly anticipated by the game’s community for a while.

According to the official video of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’s free Title Update 4, the new content will be available on February 7, 2023. The digital event also announced that two new monsters will be added to the roster: Velkhana and Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax. Fans will likely recognize Velkhana as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Though hunters can already fight against the Crimson Glow Valstrax in Sunbreak’s base game, it is only now that its Risen form is being added into the title. This means that hunters get to face a more dangerous version of the Elder Dragon when the update is finally released.

Capcom also revealed new endgame content for free Title Update 4 of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The game’s Anomaly Research Quests have been expanded, adding the Chaotic Gore Magala into the mix of monster hunts. The Risen Elder Dragons of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will also be included into the roster of Anomaly Research Quests, which is likely why the feature’s level cap will be increased to 220 when the update comes. Other new content include new weekly event quests that players can participate in to get aesthetic rewards and paid DLC that changes the look of a hunter, its Palico, or Palamute.

Given the popularity of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, it is not surprising that Capcom chose Velkhana as the new monster to be added to Sunbreak’s free Title Update 4. However, fans of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak still have a lot to look forward to. The game’s free Title Update 5 is coming this April 2023, and seems to promise the return of another Elder Dragon, among other exciting things.

Monster Hunter: Rise is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles.
