Veterans of the Monster Hunter series are well aware of how much crafting and upgrading goes on in the games. It's a system that many players adore, and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak brings it back in full-force with a variety of new monsters to battle, beat, and harvest for crafting materials.

One example of the numerous new materials is the Anjanath Mantle. This item used to craft the Anjanath Coil X in the Anjanath Armor X set, and is also used to upgrade countless weapons. Despite its many uses, the Anjanath Mantle has an eye-wateringly low chance of being obtained from hunting Anjanath. This guide will help players maximize their chances of getting a mantle.

Fighting an Anjanath

Like the many other mantles in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the Anjanath Mantle is found when dealing with a Master-Rank Anjanath. Fighting this beast won't be too difficult for Monster Hunter: Rise players, but for those unfamiliar with the fluffy T. Rex, keep these tips in mind:

  • Expect fire, and wear fire-resistant armor accordingly.
  • If set on fire, roll until the Fireblight status is gone.
  • Weapons that use Water and Ice elements are Anjanath's weakness.
  • Weapons that use Fire and Dragon elements won't be very effective.
  • Prioritize hitting the Anjanath's snout and wings when it gets them out.

Where to Find Anjanath Mantle

Despite simply fighting and carving up an Anjanath being the most obvious way to get a mantle, the following are the most reliable sources:

  • After unlocking Anomaly Investigations at Master Rank 10, an Anjanath Mantle can be bought from Bahari in the Anomaly Research Lab for 150 Investigation Coins.
  • Capturing an Anjanath has a 3% chance of yielding an Anjanath Mantle in the 'quest complete' screen.
  • Severing the Anjanath's tail and carving it up has a 3% chance of yielding a mantle.
  • Killing an Anjanath has a 2% chance of yielding a mantle in the 'quest complete' screen.
  • Killing and carving up an Anjanath's body has a 2% chance of yielding a mantle.
  • Breaking the Anjanath's head during the fight has a 2% chance of it dropping a mantle.
  • Anjanath has a 1% chance of dropping a mantle over the course of a regular fight. Pick up anything that comes off them.
