This week, Capcom gave fans tons of new information about many of its upcoming games. While some games, like Street Fighter 6, were part of Summer Games Fest 2022, Capcom held its own showcase, providing fans with tons of new trailers and details for games like Exoprimal, Resident Evil 4, and the long awaited Resident Evil VIllage DLC called Shadows of Rose. The company even confirmed the highly requested Dragon's Dogma 2 is finally in development during a separate anniversary celebration stream.

With only a few weeks left until launch, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak was also given plenty of time in the spotlight during the Capcom Showcase. In addition to brand-new gameplay footage, Capcom outlined its plans for continued support long after Sunbreak launches. This includes free title updates that add new monsters like Lucent Nargacuga in August as well as special and unique events, something Capcom had become known for with Monster Hunter World.

The showcase even confirmed the return of a number of fan favorite features from the Monster Hunter franchise. In fact, eagle-eyed fans may have seen a popular gesture from classic Monster Hunter games that is finally making its debut in Rise. As demo players have discovered, the emote called Prance, where the character moves in a circle waving their hands, is now a selectable option from the main list. The emote moment in the trailer also showed off Spirit Fingers and Flourish to name a few.

Since Monster Hunter Rise's launch, the Prance emote has been a heavily requested item from the fan base. The emote has been a fan favorite for nearly a decade, showing up in classic Monster Hunter games like 3 Ultimate. The gesture was further popularized through YouTube videos both from fans and Capcom itself who created one in 2015 of a Hunter prancing throughout various locations in London. The gesture has become so popular that Capcom even added it back into Monster Hunter World as part of a free downloadable Gesture Pack.

Thankfully, Prance isn't the only fan favorite returning feature coming to the Sunbreak expansion. Classic monsters from past games like Espinas, the Daimyo Hermitaur, and Gore Magala are returning to the series through Sunbreak, and even the Jungle location will once again be explorable with a boss battle against the creature known as Astalos. In fact, players can get a jump start on their journey and checking out the new Silkbind mechanics through a demo, which offers tutorials and numerous quests to partake in as well. Astalos is joined by Tetranadon, Great Izuchi, and the flagship monster, Malzeno.

Monster Hunter Rise is available now for PC and Switch, and Sunbreak will release on June 30, 2022.
