It has only been a few weeks since the development team of Monster Hunter Rise released its most recent collaboration with fellow Capcom title Ghosts 'N Goblins Resurrection. Now, hunters will have more in-game content to look forward to this November, with Capcom recently revealing the exact release date of the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog collaboration.

Many Monster Hunter Rise fans would likely agree that 2021 has been quite a significant year for the Nintendo Switch title. Aside from only being launched last March, the action RPG seems to already have its gaming relevance secured through the announcement of the MH Rise: Sunbreak expansion and the game's release for the PC. What's more, the smaller yet significant collaborations with other video game series such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Mega Man, and more, seems like a great way to incentivize the community to keep playing Monster Hunter Rise.

Though it was officially announced during Tokyo Game Show 2021 last September, Capcom finally revealed the actual release date of the Monster Hunter Rise x Sonic collaboration. Starting on November 26, 2021, hunters will be able to access the special collab in-game. On the official site, the devs outlined that the collaboration will come with two new special event quests, Sonic-themed gameplay features, Sonic-themed aesthetic items, and, of course, special Monster Hunter Rise layered armor designs.

On YouTube, Capcom also shared how the collaboration would look like in action with a short trailer. In the video, the hunters are dressed in a unique tracksuit called "Sonic Wear" as they go through the event quests. The special quests will feature the iconic Sonic golden rings, and will play Sonic the Hedgehog soundtracks as background music during the hunt. For the trusty Monster Hunter Rise buddies, the collaboration will bring in a Sonic-themed Palico armor, while Palamutes will get to dress up as Sonic's companion Tails.

The collab will also be incorporating one of the most important items from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the Chaos Emeralds. Hunters who use a Felvine Bulb on their Monster Hunter Rise Palicoes during the hunt will transform them into Super Sonic. To emphasize the power up, the transformation will include a special animated sequence that will feature the Chaos Emeralds.

For fans of both Monster Hunter Rise and Sonic the Hedgehog, the upcoming collaboration is definitely something exciting to look forward to. With this being the first collab outside Capcom's sphere of titles, hopefully the team will consider more partnerships with other popular franchises in the future.

Monster Hunter Rise is available on the Nintendo Switch, with release for the PC coming in 2022.
