Suffice it to say there are a lot of materials to keep track of in Monster Hunter Rise. It can be overbearing especially when someone doesn't know what all of these items do. This can be especially taxing when trying to figure out where certain materials are located in order to craft and or upgrade new armor or weapons.

In the case of mining ore, it can be like finding a needle in a haystack. The game does show where these mining locations are, but not what is inside them. There are also two different location types on the map. One is blue and the other is white. White locations are the ones that will be desired as they are harder to find and fish out better chances to get rare minerals.

The blue locations, as described in the game itself, house “run-of-the-mill” ore. One can still find rare deposits in them, but it is a lot less common. Let's go through all five areas of the game, on both low and high-ranked modes, and see what exactly is hiding inside all of these ore deposits, which are known as Mining Outcrops. On a final note, even though the materials may differ between the ranked states, the locations of these deposits stay the same in the game.

5 Shrine Ruins Mining Outcrops

The Shrine Ruins has no exclusive ores, or crystals to call their own. In the low-ranked versions, players can get Iron Ore and Earth Crystals. Both of these items are common in all maps in Monster Hunter Rise for either ranking. In the high-ranked version of this map, Shrine Ruins still has no exclusives, but it is the first place players can encounter Carbalite Ore. This becomes pretty common in all areas of the game too, but it is still no less valuable to note here.

The best grouping of the rare Mining Outcrops can be found pretty much in the middle of the map around zone five. Most of them are hidden on high sides of the cliffs. It is recommended then to find a Wirebug in the wild to improve the user's gauges and to also make sure to eat a meal before venturing off. Even if someone doesn’t plan to fight monsters, a meal will increase the stamina gauge, thus allowing a hunter to climb these tall mountains faster and without the need for a break.

4 Frost Islands Mining Outcrops

The Frost Islands hold two secret exclusive minerals. In the low-ranked area, one can gather Icium, which is funny as the name is a little on the nose for this section. In the high-ranked version, Gracium is the big mineral. And yes, Icium can still be found in high ranks too, and it is actually much more common than the first time around.

As this is a bigger map as compared to the Shrine Ruins section of the game, tracking down these rare Mining Outcrops is a bit trickier. A good loop to try would be to start on the despots that are marked by the dark blue water between zones four and five on the map. From there, head left to gather the minerals nesting above zone three, and the other located at the top peak of zone six. If the second sub-camp is unlocked, there is also a rare deposit right outside of that area. From there, head back to the start and everything should have grown back.

3 Sandy Plains Mining Outcrops

The Sandy Plains will be the first place a player can gather Machalite Ore in the low-ranked version of the map. However, after this point, that mineral becomes easy to find in other areas, especially in high-ranked hunts. This is also true of Fucium, which can be found for the first time on the high-ranked version of the Sandy Plains.

The best place to gather the rarer minerals in this area is actually pretty easy all things considered. Unlock the second sub-camp, warp there, and then go underground. Below will be three deposits all within close vicinity of each other.

2 Flooded Forest Mining Outcrops

The Flooded Forest has a bunch of crystals that start out exclusive to this area. The first two, Lightcrystals and Clear Crystals, are found in the low-ranked version along with becoming a bit more common higher up. The exclusive to the high-ranked area is the Novacrystal.

To start looking for these rare beauties, head inside temples. First, go to the smaller temple’s top, which is located right above the point on the number four on the map, and inside are two Mining Outcrops. The other temple is the big gray box in the southeast corner.

Climb that thing to the very top. Don’t stop at the first door and instead keep going up. This requires a lot of stamina. Once there, head to the direct opposite side. Jump off, but stick close to the temple in order to Wirebug sling onto a secret ledge and doorway. Inside are two more Mining Outcrops. It’s very involved, but also fun in an Indiana Jones sort of way.

1 Lava Caverns Mining Outcrops

The last section that will be explored is also the hardest to navigate. The map does a pretty poor job of differentiating what is the top level of the map and which is the bottom level. That aside, for now, the big get for the low-ranked version of the game is Dragonite Ore. Like other minerals, it becomes common in the replay. The two exclusives on high-ranked hunts are Firecell Stone and Firestone.

The best place to gather the main rare minerals is again tricky. Try switching the map to the lower-tiered version in order to see a cropping of about three deposits below the number ten. The two together are inside a small, slender hole. Those two will be the easiest to get along with another that is close by between zones seven and nine.
