Tokyo Game Show, otherwise known as TGS, is currently going on, and developer/publisher Capcom showed up to present a lengthy Monster Hunter Spotlight presentation. The livestream from this morning was about 40 minutes in length and gave MH fans more details on the upcoming massive Sunbreak expansion, Monster Hunter Stories 2 DLC, and a confirmation on when exactly PC players will be able to get their hands on Monster Hunter Rise.

Fans have been patiently awaiting a release date announcement from Capcom since the team revealed that Monster Hunter Rise would be coming to PC eventually. And not only did Capcom reveal when the port is coming, but the team also went into the exclusive features for the PC version.

Monster Hunter Rise will launch on PC on January 12, 2022, via Steam. The title will include all of the significant post-launch DLC that Switch owners have been diving into over the year since the game's release in March. PC players will be able to enjoy the deep action-RPG experience with higher resolution textures, uncapped framerates, optimized keyboard/mouse controls, ultrawide display, voice chat, and 4K visuals.

For PC owners that have not yet tried Monster Hunter Rise out on Switch can download a free demo on Steam starting on October 13, allowing folks the opportunity to face off against the flagship monster of the game, Magnamalo. But no worries for the inexperienced hunters out there; the demo also lets gamers fight against some beginner monsters. And just like the original Switch demo for Rise, all 14 weapon types are available, as well as some training and tutorial options.

A few months after the launch of the PC port of Monster Hunter Rise, the paid Sunbreak expansion will launch simultaneously for Switch and PC. Capcom has not yet confirmed the price of the new content, but it seems like it will be on the same level as Monster Hunter: World's Iceborne expansion.

There will be a new hub area, new locales, new monsters, new gameplay elements, and a new set of Master rank quests, which are sure to challenge been the mightiest of hunters. During the Monster Hunter Rise presentation, Capcom confirmed the flagship Elder Dragon for Sunbreak is called Malzeno. Also, Shogun Ceanataur, which first appeared in Monster Hunter 2, is making a return.

Monster Hunter Rise is available now for the Nintendo Switch. It'll release for PC on January 12, 2022.
