Monster Hunter Rise's release on PC is just a few days away, and Capcom has announced a new feature that will be accompanying the game's launch. Players will be able to put on filters to Monster Hunter Rise to add in some new style.
Monster Hunter Rise was released on the Switch in March last year, and Capcom will be releasing the game on PC as well to increase the game's player base. In addition to the standard improvements gamers can expect on PC, the filters will add a nice touch to getting the most out of Monster Hunter Rise. A film grain effect can also be applied to the game, further enhancing the experience gamers can have while playing.
Capcom released a launch trailer for Monster Hunter Rise where it first showed off the filters working in real time. Filters like sepia, black and white, Japanese-style, and Warring Lands-style will be included. PC improvements like ultra wide support, 4K resolution, and uncapped frame rates were also reiterated. The updates that have been released for the Switch version of the game will also be included in the launch of the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise. DLC like costumes for the Palamutes and Palicos will also be included in the preorder bonuses. If PC players have a copy of Monster Hunter Stories 2, they can receive a new layered armor set as well. The trailer also ends with a promotion for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the major upcoming expansion for the game.
Monster Hunter Rise will be the second mainline game in the Monster Hunter series to be released on PC, the other being Monster Hunter World, which was a highly successful title on PS4 and PC. Support for the series has been high, and Capcom's expansion of the series to PC helped numerous gamers get into the series for the first time. Monster Hunter is one of Capcom's biggest franchises, and it is likely to see more PC releases going forward.
The use of filters to personalize players' experiences with the game is a nice touch. Capcom itself had some fun with the filters, presenting the trailer like an old samurai action film. The use of the long sword, one of the cooler weapons of the series, helped enhance the mood.
All of these customization options are always appreciated, and some players will make use of them, and some will keep things as-is. The Monster Hunter community has a lot to look forward to in the coming days as Monster Hunter Rise looks to expand the player base even more.
