Loyal fans of Capcom’s upcoming action-adventure title Monster Hunter Rise have recently been treated to a lot of updates about the game’s new features. While one of these centered around MH Rise’s new Training Area, Capcom has uploaded a brand-new video that teases how the latest title is bringing back the iconic item-harvesting feature found in the previous games.

With the many things hunters have to do in every Monster Hunter title, each game has continuously implemented an item-harvesting system that provides support to the players. This time, the system comes in the form of the Meowcenaries, which allows players to send off their hunting companions on their own journey to collect useful items such as monster materials and supplies needed for crafting. Given that Monster Hunter Rise has removed Hot Drinks, it is likely that hunters will not see Hot Peppers in the harvest line-up any time soon.

In a short video that was uploaded on the official Monster Hunter Twitter account, the spotlight was put on Felyne Chief Kogarashi, who is the head honcho of the Meowcenaries. Fans will likely be delighted to know that Kogarashi used to be Kamura Village’s Elder Fugen’s Palico, and is rumored to be one of the strongest Palicoes in Monster Hunter Rise

After talking to the chief in the Buddy Plaza, the same area where hunters can recruit new Palicoes or Palamutes using the Monster Hunter Rise Buddy Scout system, players are presented with several options for the item-harvesting route. These include the difficulty rank, and locations such as the Shrine Ruins or the recently revealed Frost Islands. Smaller details such as what monsters and wildlife the Meowcenaries will encounter will be made available to the hunters once they've chosen the route's location.

Once the route has been finalized, players will be able to choose which of their extra hunting buddies they will send off as part of the Meowcenaries. When that is done, and hunters pay the required amount of points, Felyne Chief Kogarashi will send them off on their journey. Nothing in the clip confirms how long it will take until the band of buddies will return with the items in Monster Hunter Rise, but in previous games, time usually passes after a certain number of quests.

Fans are likely familiar with the harshness of the Monster Hunter Desire Sensor. With the Meowcenaries system available in MH Rise, hunters will be able to harvest smaller monster materials, and supplement their supplies for crafting useful recovery items. Given how tough grinding can be in the series' games, players will most likely welcome all the help they can get.

Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26 for the Nintendo Switch.
