Like almost every game, Monster Hunter Rise has its own economy. Players can earn money, called Zenny, and use it to upgrade weapons and armor and buy all manner of items. To rank up full sets of the best weapons and armor in the game, players will need a lot of money, so knowing the best ways to earn it quickly is important.
The best way to earn money in Monster Hunter Rise is to embrace the game's premise and hunt monsters. Hunting quests reward players with the highest amount of Zenny, but they will need to be sure they don't faint from taking too much damage while doing them. Fainting leads to a reduction in the amount of Zenny that is given out at the end of a hunt. Remember to bring plenty of healing items to ensure this is not an issue.
While collecting resources and items is important, players may find themselves in possession of many resources they don't need. Selling them at any vendor can be a great way to make some money quickly. It is also important to ensure that players are not buying items from vendors that they can easily craft themselves. A great example of this is health potions, which can be crafted from plants found in every locale and obtained from the item box at the start of a hunt.
It's a good idea for players to get through the first two areas of the game's world as quickly as possible, as the rewards really start to ramp up after they hit the Flooded Forest and Sandy Plains. Doing the minimum amount of quests to get to the 3 Star level is worth it if earning money is a priority. These later areas also contain rarer resources that can be sold for more money.
Not spending money can be just as important as earning it, so players should always make sure they spend Kamura Points in Kamura Village instead of money when they have the option. Kamura Points are a type of secondary currency that can be used at the canteen, the Argosy shop, and for hiring Meowcenaries.
The best way to earn money in the game is through the Argosy trading option in Buddy Plaza. This trader allows players to send their buddies out in search of items and resources while they are hunting. By sending a buddy after Flamenuts, players will be able to earn 80 of the item per hunt, selling them for a total of 960 Zenny. Players who can send more than a single Buddy on a trade route while they are on a hunt can make even more Zenny.
Another excellent means of earning Zenny is to check the Rare Find in the “Exchange for Items” option in the Argosy menu. The subsequent list of items can be purchased for Kamura Points, but sold for Zenny, allowing players to directly convert one currency into the other. The best items to look out for are Val Habar Quartz, which cost 500 points and sells for 10,000 Zenny.
The final way to really stock up on Zenny is to learn some good ore farming routes. Ore farming is a quick and easy way to earn money, especially if players are wearing three pieces of leather armor while they do it. This will give them the max rank of the Geologist skill, netter them improved mining drops.
Players can then go on an Expedition Tour of the Lava Caverns, but will want to make sure that the Upsurge: Mining Outcrops modifier is active to truly maximize their income. After that, they can choose to go from mining outcrop to mining outcrop, or they can follow the highly efficient farm route detailed by Youtuber Arekkz in the video above. Using these more advanced techniques, players will be able to gather up a considerable amount of Zenny in very little time.
Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch. A PC port will launch in early 2022.
