Monster Hunter Rise throws players into a new hub area called Kamura Village and introduces brand-new mechanics such as the Wirebug and Wyvern Riding to freshen up the hunting experience for players new and old. However, the bulk of the game remains similar to past entries, as players are tasked with going on hunting missions in order to grind for materials and rewards to make powerful armor sets and weapons. One item that players may have trouble finding is something called Golden Muck.

Golden Muck is used to craft certain equipment items, and actually obtaining it in Monster Hunter Rise can be a struggle, as there is a pretty low chance for players to get some for themselves. However, this guide will walk hunters through the process.

To get right into it, Golden Muck can only be obtained via Almudron, one of the game's large monsters that slightly resembles a snake. If players have yet to fight against this creature, it's probably because they have yet to reach a certain level of quests. Almudron's quest will not show up in the single-player Village quests until hunters reach the 6-star category. Players must work their way up to that level by completing the key quests marked in red.

However, players can reach the Almudron fight much quicker via the multiplayer-focuses Hub quests. Almudron will show up in the Hub's 3-star quests, which is way easier to get to compared to the other method. If players check out the information on the monster in the log, they can see that Golden Muck has a 30% chance of being a dropped material from Almudron. There's also a 22% chance to get it as a target reward and there's a 13% chance if the player captures the monster.

If players are wondering how to get monsters to drop materials, it'll always happen organically during a fight. Players will eventually notice shining items scattered across the ground when monsters get severely damaged, so make sure to pick these items up as there's a fairly good chance that it could end up being some Golden Muck, or other rare items like an Almudron Shell or Scale.

The best way to have the highest chance possible is to make sure to pick up dropped materials, capture the monster, and then claim the rewards once the quest is completed.

Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch. A PC port is expected to launch in early 2022.
