Capcom is set to release the latest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Rise, on the Nintendo Switch in about two months. Rise was built from the ground-up for the hybrid console and introduces several new gameplay mechanics like the ability to ride on top of monsters and have full control over their movement and attacks. The Wirebug mechanic is also brand-new, adding more mobility so that hunters can zip around the maps much faster.

Considering that Monster Hunter: World only launched on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, it was a bit surprising to see Capcom and Nintendo collaborating for the next Monster Hunter title to be a Nintendo exclusive. Some fans of the series were disappointed to see the next title on only one platform, but there are rumors that the title could be releasing on PC as well.

As of the time of writing, Capcom has yet to confirm that Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PC; it's a Switch exclusive, at least for the time being. But according to a recent Capcom leak, details surfaced regarding a PC port of Rise, specifically the title's specs. Apparently, the PC version will allow for players to pick between a 30fps, 60fps, or an uncapped frame rate mode. There will also be support for GSync and FreeSync and even an improved user interface.

Porting over Monster Hunter Rise would certainly be something for fans to be excited for, especially the ones who don't happen to own a Nintendo Switch and want a way to jump into the next entry. Monster Hunter: World, along with its Iceborne expansion, proved to be a big hit for Capcom, reaching mainstream success for what feels like the first time. Capcom releasing the title on multiple platforms can help ensure that the fans --and even new players-- can play the game without having to purchase an entirely new console.

Of course, the information in these leaks need to be taken with a grain of salt, so only time will tell if Monster Hunter Rise ends up coming to PC or even some other platforms. For anyone that's interested in checking the game out, there is a demo for Rise available on the Switch eShop that lets players try out two different monster hunts and even some training missions.

There have been some lag issues for some players when they try to jump online with other players, but Capcom has promised that this bug will not be in the final version of the game, thankfully.

Monster Hunter Rise will launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021.
