A fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has decided that it would be a good idea to dress up their hunter in Monster Hunter Rise as the game’s popular special villager Isabelle. Fully utilizing the character customization options in Monster Hunter Rise, the artist completes a whole look and outfit that is highly reminiscent of the life sim’s famous canine secretary.

This is not the first time that characters from both video games have been put together in a single scenario. Isabelle and the Monster Hunter series’ Rathalos have officially appeared together in another Nintendo title like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so fans likely played the fighting game with both characters in some matches. Otherwise, fans combine the two fandoms through original creations like a Doom Eternal mod, and now, a Redditor with the username Jigenrqz_22 has made an Isabelle costume for their MH Rise character.

On their Reddit thread, Jigenrqz_22 asked their fellow Animal Crossing: New Horizons players if the Isabelle outfit they put together for their Monster Hunter Rise character is cute or cursed. The image collage they shared portrayed the whole outfit, complete with Isabelle’s iconic green and yellow color scheme. The Redditor even used Monster Hunter Rise in-game options to mimic her fluffy golden hair and mark their hunter’s face with Isabelle’s nose and fur colors.

Many fans on the Reddit thread seemed to think that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Isabelle outfit was both blessed and cursed. They applauded Jigenrqz_22 for taking the time and effort to combine the two fandoms together and really make their hunter look like the popular ACNH NPC. However, since the costume is fan-generated and not officially produced by the Capcom devs, there seems to be something unnatural about the hunter’s look. Another fan also suggested that the outfit would likely seem less cursed-looking if they removed the face paint, to which the Redditor agreed.

Fortunately, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Monster Hunter Rise are both Nintendo Switch titles. This likely means that there is a high chance for Nintendo to make official collaborations between the two video games. Older Monster Hunter titles have had official partnerships with Nintendo before, and some Animal Crossing characters were added into the previous games as hunter or Palico weapons and armor. Hopefully this means that both companies will work together to bring Animal Crossing: New Horizons into the hunting game officially in the future. Until then, fans will simply have to wait for updates from the developers themselves.
