Monster Hunter Rise has made its way to the Nintendo Switch as an exclusive title, at least until the PC port comes out in 2022. This latest entry in Capcom's long-running series may feel familiar to those who have played Monster Hunter: World back in 2018, but there are some new features here that set it apart from the rest. As soon as players begin their new adventure in Rise, they will be given the opportunity to customize their appearance in many ways. For those who are wondering what all of Monster Hunter Rise's hairstyles look like and how to change appearance, this guide will walk players through the process.

Monster Hunter Rise has 24 different hairstyles to choose from, and they all can be donned by any player, regardless of the male/female option that they choose. This allows players to look however they would like to without being forced to choose one specific gender. And while hairstyle is one option, there are many other facial features to customize, such as lips, eyebrows, cheekbone structure, eyes, color palettes, ears, and much more. Players will also be given the choice to customize their animal companions, a Palico and a Palamute, which just adds to the personalization factor of the game.

How to Change Appearance in Monster Hunter Rise

Choosing the look of the hunter at the beginning of the game might stress some players out because the game doesn't say if it's possible to change things later. While it is possible to customize player appearance after the initial creation, changing the gender is not possible. In order to change appearance, players must look for an item box in Kamura Village, which is the hub area of Monster Hunter Rise. There's an item box in the middle of the town, right next to Hinoa and the Village Quest Counter.

Players should go up to it, press the A button, and then scroll down to Appearance Settings. Players will be able to change things such as hairstyle, makeup, facial hair, voice, and clothing, but as mentioned before, gender can't be changed for whatever reason. Once hunters finish customizing, they should make sure to save the final product before exiting the menu completely.

Now that players are more comfortable with their avatar's appearance, they can start learning how to use some of the game's weapons, such as the Hunting Horn.

Monster Hunter Rise is available on March 26 for the Nintendo Switch and a PC port is expected to release in early 2022.
