The developers of Minecraft are spread across the world, each working on different versions of Minecraft, spin-off projects, or even new games. Today they together announced a new name, a new logo, and some new ideas. Introducing Mojang Studios, a reinvention of Mojang designed to better capture its modern form.
The new Mojang Studios logo is put together with small objects that look almost like puzzle pieces. They're called "mojangs," which in Swedish means gadgets. Mojang Studios mojangs are meant to better represent the variety of ideas going on across its multiple studios and teams, the whole world over.
To help punctuate Mojang Studios' diverse future prospects, the team revealed some of the things it's currently working on. The list includes a feature Minecraft film, an "epic" live show, and some experiments for brand new games that aren't quite ready to be talked about just yet. 11 years old, Mojang Studios' only just getting started.
For the time being, Mojang Studios' focus remains on the development of its current two big projects. Minecraft, both the Java and bedrock versions, development moves forward as always. And Minecraft Dungeons moves closer to its May 26 release date day by day. The Mojang Studios name isn't adjusting Mojang's game development, only the idea behind it.
