Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 5 has so far given fans ample opportunity to level up their shiny new guns. From a double XP weekend following launch to new game modes, Modern Warfare fans are likely to be rolling in the XP by now, but if they're not, then Activision has one more surprise in store.

Modern Warfare's newest playlist update has added back the infamous 24/7 Shoot the Ship playlist. This playlist is primarily used by fans to grind guns in a close-knit fast-paced shootout with both maps providing ample opportunities for a variety of gun challenges.

Shoot the Ship is a great chance for players to get the kills out of the way and proceed to the more difficult sections of leveling their favorite guns. Players are advised to use XP tokens while running through each map as even a loss will grant massive XP chances to fans who play the entire round. Shipment is a fast-paced game mode, so be sure to use close quarter weaponry, and while in Shoothouse, players should use the exact opposite.

Even as the season in Modern Warfare changes, the core of the game continues to stay the same. Fans can enjoy the action-packed experiences that have been in the game since its launch last year while still trying out new weapons, operators, and equipment added since then. For a more fulfilling Call of Duty experience, fans can try out several other game modes being added in with this update.

Activision has added in a new Hardcore TDK and Kill Confirmed playlist alongside several other minor options. Feel free to try a more realistic approach or maybe simplify the game down with the Bare Bones Moshpit game mode. Each of these will provide fans with a unique challenge depending on the level of difficulty they are searching for in their multiplayer experience.

Season 5 is still in its early stages, so now is a great time to take advantage of any shortcut when it comes to leveling the new Battle Pass. Recently there was a glitch allowing players a chance to amplify their XP gain, but that has since been patched out. Opportunities like that only appear once in a while, so fans should listen for a chance to cut some of the grinding out of their Modern Warfare experiences.
