Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a game of skill, speed, and competition. Every new player brings a new set of skills into the game, helping to advance the challenge for other players. While some Modern Warfare fans work hard to earn their skills, others seem to get lucky enough to hit mid-air explosives with nothing but a handy throwing knife.

When it comes to lucky shots like these, fans often debate the authenticity of the clips themselves, picking at minor details. While some actions appear to be an act of skill rather than luck, as the player is not firing randomly, sometimes it's hard to tell the difference in instances such as this questionable clip.

In the clip in question, the player aims a throwing knife right above a car, and in an act of what seems like perfect timing, throws the knife into a semtex grenade. Several things happen at the point of impact as the grenade explodes; an XP box appears reading "blackout," and the explosion matches the knife's positioning. While all appears right, fans that listened carefully noticed an additional tidbit of information in the clip, as the Modern Warfare operator clearly says "UAV down." Suddenly, this clip was thrown into a whirlwind of discussion as fans explored the possibility of the clip's authenticity in the comments below the video.

Fans know from past clips and experience that objects Semtex can collide with grenades, C4 and other throwables. This means that the Modern Warfare fan's knife throw is possible, at the very least. Zooming in, players can clearly see the gear icon in the slo-mo section indicating that they did in fake make contact with the grenade, possibly detonating it.

Fans are looking towards the XP reward that reads "+200xp Blackout" as their main evidence that this video is fake. Blackouts happen when a player takes down a UAV or Counter-UAV in Modern Warfare, which means that the XP could not be awarded for this mid-air collision. Other fans look towards the angle of the knife throw itself saying that it is impossible for the two to have collided due to the poster's aim alone.

Fake or not, this clip is fairly impressive in timing alone. Fans count this as one of the many reasons that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare should have included a theatre mode. Without the proper angle, fans truly can not find out exactly what happened in this instance, resulting in part of the community saying its fake, and the remainder being understandably impressed.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
