A new video shows off 12 minutes of gameplay for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, showing players the game's impressive new visuals.

One of the most highly anticipated games this year is a title that’s already been available for nearly a decade. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has the attention of Call of Duty fans around the globe, and may be instrumental in making Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare one of the highest selling Call of Duty games ever.

With just over a month till launch, gamers are anxious for any information they can get about Modern Warfare Remastered. And thanks to Kotaku, fans of the game can now see the shooter’s updated graphics and gameplay in action. The twelve minute video, found below, gives players a small taste of what’s to come with the full release of Modern Warfare Remastered.

The video takes players through Modern Warfare’s “Charlie Don’t Surf”, the fifth mission of the game’s campaign. While nothing spectacular happens during the mission, besides a handful of run-and-gun shootouts with enemies, it offers a stunning new take on the classic game.

The first upgrade that’s immediately obvious is the visuals. They’re sharp and textured, giving players a greater sense of immersion in the title. While the original was impressive for its time, its graphics no longer hold up against the games to today. That said, Activision has injected impressive detail into Modern Warfare Remastered, making it worthy of  being called a current-generation title.

What’s most impressive is Modern Warfare Remastered’s ability to capture the environment and experience of the original, while still offering a high-quality visual experience. Those who played Call of Duty 4 will undoubtedly experience a feeling of nostalgia as they watch the brief gameplay above, as the sounds, sights, and gameplay are all still very true to the original game.

The true-to-the-original experience isn’t without flaws, though. It’s important for players to remember this is a decade-old game, so the mechanics will be well behind the Call of Duty games released the last few years. The missions are linear and simple, lacking the over-the-top explosive action that’s become the new norm for Activision and its team of developers.

Those looking to jump into Modern Warfare Remastered will need to pick up Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, since the two titles are inseparably connected, at least for now. There have been rumors that Modern Warfare Remastered will eventually be available as a standalone purchase, but until that’s confirmed by Activision, it’s still just speculation.

What do you think about the above Modern Warfare Remastered gameplay? Is it enough to convince you to pick up Infinite Warfare?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be available alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on November 4, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
