Call of Duty: Modern Warfare strives to give players a semi-realistic world to battle in. Although the game does not include destructible environments, the game still presents a general level of realism with bullet holes and environmental damage.

That seems to be the case in almost every object in Modern Warfare, but some fans have noticed that glass seems to be posing a problem. Scattered across several Modern Warfare maps are instances of glass that is invulnerable to bullets, explosives, and almost everything else fans can think to throw at it.

The problem is best demonstrated by a video posted on Reddit by BobaFett1711. In the clip, fans can clearly see BobaFett scoped in on a vulnerable target. All that stands between them and the shot is a window of glass, which provides a clear point of view of the target. To his surprise, once the shot was fired it was stopped by the bus-station glass panel leaving not even a scratch on the surface. The enemy player simply ducked around the barrier and sniped BobaFett, avoiding the problem entirely.

Modern Warfare fans have found several instances of "bulletproof glass" scattered across several maps. Cheshire park's bus stops, shoothouse's car windows, and several other locations have objects that bullets can not penetrate no matter the caliber.

To make the bug even stranger, some instances of the glass allow bullets to pass through from the opposite side. This creates a literal barrier between shooter and target with only oneway access for bullets to go. Despite the unfair advantage this creates, it disrupts the realism of Modern Warfare overall and results in fans missing shots for simply expecting the glass to break.

In Warzone, players break glass all the time when breaching, shooting through, and destroying environments. Although the walls could block bullets, short of full metal jacket perks, the glass behaves as glass even going as far as to block thermal scopes. Fans can expect the glass to react realistically in Warzone, but in Modern Warfare they are left guessing whether or not glass panes can be shot through.

Fans have reported the instances of this glitch to Infinity Ward and Activision on multiple accounts, but it has yet to appear on their patch notes. It is advised to simply avoid the glass areas, spread the word of these exploit spots among the community, and document as many cases as possible.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
