Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Season One Battle Pass was a resounding success on almost all accounts. The title is now the highest selling in the series and the game’s Season One content and updates addressed and fixed many of the issues that hardcore fans voiced. While fans are still voicing criticisms of the game’s technical problems and online structure, for the most part Modern Warfare looks to be heading in a promising direction. Now, with the Season Two update finally live for players to download, fans are eager to see what the update brings.

Modern Warfare’s Season Two Battle Pass has a lot to live up to. It is re-introducing a fan-favorite character back into the mix, with the return of Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley. While some fans have understandably taken issue with his redesign, many more fans are eager to see what other surprises the Season Two Battle Pass has in store. Luckily,  Activision is offering a special digital edition of Modern Warfare that bundles the Season Two Battle Pass with the game.

This special edition, called the Battle Pass Edition, is available on both the PlayStation and Xbox storefronts, while also being sold digitally at select retailers like Best Buy. Notably, this same special edition was available for players to purchase during the initial launch for the Season One Battle Pass, so it seems this may be a recurring trend for the title going forward.

While Season One for Modern Warfare didn’t bring any huge game modes that completely shook up the online landscape, that may not be the case for Season Two. In fact, it seems a Battle Royale may have been teased in the opening cinematic for Season Two, which is something fans have been clamoring for since launch. This special edition might be the perfect chance for those who haven’t bought the game to jump in.

The special edition costs $100 USD and is available for all platforms. The package includes 3,000 Call of Duty Points, a combat knife, a custom skin, a weapons pack, as well as several operator packs. Unfortunately, Season Two’s launch did not go off without a hitch as many fans noted that the patch was missing promised day one content, such as the Bazaar Gunfight map and the Gunfight Tournaments mode.

Despite that setback, Activision and the development team have released a road map for Season Two’s content roll-out. The roadmap already shows off some promising updates, like the long-awaited return of the Rust map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Rust is a map that fans have wanted to return to the franchise for quite some time. Hopefully, Season Two is able deliver on the experience that fans have come to expect from Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
