The next wave of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer DLC for PS3 Call of Duty Elite members (wow that is a lot of fine print) has finally been confirmed with a release date. Though all of the items that will be made available to PS3 players have been out for Xbox 360 Elite members for about a month, it shouldn’t diminish the impact of one new multiplayer map and two new spec-ops missions.

Those missions, for anybody that hasn’t been following closely with the never-ending series of Modern Warfare 3 DLC announcements, are Black Ice and Negotiator. Negotiator puts the player in the midst of a high stakes hostage negotiation (as the name implies) where they must find and secure a set of VIPs. Black Ice, on the other hand, sees the return of the snowmobile as the team tries to shut down a mine.

And then, of course, there’s the most coveted piece of the Content Drop — as Activision likes to call them — the new multiplayer map Black Box. Based somewhat off the events from the single player campaign in Modern Warfare 3, Black Box features a downed Air Force One scattered amongst a suburban neighborhood. Players can find a whole variety of hiding places and battle arenas, and the maps pretty visually interesting to boot.

For any that might have missed it here’s the trailer for Content Drops 4, 5, and 6:

As was said before, all of this content will only be made available to PS3 Call of Duty Elite Premium members on April 12th. Rumor has it that a “blackout” (not to be confused with either of the maps featured in the drops) is planned for April 20th where fans will protest Infinity Ward’s lack of post-release support, so get your fill before there’s no one to play with.

Although it feels like so much has already been released for Modern Warfare 3 since its release, we’ve only barely scratched the surface of the game’s 9-month release schedule. There’s still a lot more content on the way, for Elite Premium and regular Call of Duty players alike.

Have you been looking forward to checking out this next set of maps for Modern Warfare 3? How has the amount of content released thus far stacked up against previous Call of Duty DLC offerings?

Modern Warfare 3 Content Drops 4, 5, and 6 will be available April 12, 2012 for PS3 Premium Elite members.
