Call of Duty XP took place over the weekend, hosting fans and media to the first ever annual event, offering attendees a chance to partake in  $1 million tournament, paintball matches in a recreated Modern Warfare level and plenty of other themed goodies. Modern Warfare 3 was playable all over the floor and we got our hands on it again, enjoying what we played.

For a sample of Modern Warfare 3’s offerings, a brand new trailer was released Activision, showcasing what the Call of Duty franchise is known for, first and foremost: competitive multiplayer.

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer gameplay trailer, titled ‘Tango Down,’ emphasizes the game’s fast-paced, high-intensity combat along with presenting some of the game’s killstreak support vehicles and lots and lots of weapons. And unlike the previous MW3 multiplayer trailer, this one is entirely in first-person, depicting what players actually experience during gameplay.

There are a lot of “haters” out there, that despite what the news may be regarding the next Call of Duty game, there will be the obligatory criticisms. But no one can deny that what we’re seeing, as similar as it may be to previous titles in the franchise, is another iteration of a consistently solid shooter franchise and this gameplay looks great. It looks fun. Watch it in HD and take a look for yourself at what will release in 60 FPS.

Players who enjoyed previous CoD titles will love Modern Warfare 3 and we can tell you that from playing it on several occasions. It’s only a matter of weeks until MW3 and its new big competitor, Battlefield 3, release to the masses and it’s a good great time for gamers who enjoy modern first-person shooters.

The only question is, once we get to play the full version, will its single player campaign deliver and will its multiplayer modes offer a replayable experience new and different enough than its predecessors.
