Activision has released a new trailer in celebration of the release of Face Off, the newest mode for Modern Warfare 3. A smaller more intimate experience, Face Off pits single players or a two-person team against each other in a series of four new maps.

The first two Face Off maps, Agroud and Erosion, are available free of charge on Xbox Live, and are available for download now, while the other two will release as part of Content Collection #2. Along with the two additional Face Off maps (Getaway and Lockout) purchasers of CC2 will net themselves three more multiplayer maps and two new Spec Ops missions for Modern Warfare 3.

If you're a Call of Duty Elite Premium member for the Xbox 360 the Content Collection is already available, but for those who are not it releases on May 22nd and retails for 1200 Microsoft Points. Actually, if you are a Call of Duty Elite Premium member, most of these new multiplayer and Spec Ops maps should already be available as well.

It's been some time since Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer rolled out a new mode for Call of Duty, but hopefully Face Off can bring some players back into the fold. While 1v1 or 2v2 matches aren't something entirely new when they have been developed with specific maps in mind it makes for a much more exciting experience.

No word on when PS3 or PC Players might see the release of this Face Off mode these new maps or Content Collection 2, but based on the way things have been staggered for past Modern Warfare 3 DLC releases I'd say it's going to be at least a month before they start permeating other platforms. Xbox 360 players, however, can merely count the days.

Have you had a chance to check out Face Off, the new mode for Modern Warfare 3? Which part of Content Collection 2 are you most excited for?

Modern Warfare 3's Content Collection #2 releases May 22, 2012 for non-Call of Duty Elite Premium members on the Xbox 360.
