‘Modern Warfare 3’ Gamestop Pre-Order Poster Unveiled

By | 5 years ago

Official Modern Warfare 3 details continue to be in short supply but information on one of the largest, and most anticipated, titles of 2011 is hard to keep under wraps.

After a number of leaked plot and release details, we’re now hearing reports of what eager Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders will net players at one of the largest retailers around. If you’re fan of bonus content, prepare for bad news; however, interior decoration enthusiasts prepare to rejoice!

Following in the footsteps of prior Call of Duty-related pre-orders, gamers who are ready to throw-down their hard-earned cash money on the next Modern Warfare title, sight unseen, will be awarded a double-sided wall poster featuring the game’s box art – as well as a faux-TIME Magazine cover featuring the aftermath of the Modern Warfare 2 story.

Modern Warfare 3 Preorder Bonus

While it’s certainly better than the one-sided Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 pre-order Infinity Ward Poster – it’s hard to swallow that Activision continues to dump out lackluster “better than nothing” bonuses – especially when gamers are expecting Battlefield 3 to give the COD franchise a run for its money.

EA’s highly-anticipated title is also poised to woo early adopters with four free multiplayer maps in the form of the “Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand” expansion pack.

The question remains: how long will gamers line-up for Call of Duty titles – without seeing any real changes to the franchise or added incentives for players? Especially when other franchises are hard-at-work upping the ante, both in terms of gameplay as well as incentives and return on investment.

Obviously, Activision isn’t going to be eager to offer-up free map packs, since they normally charge $15 dollars per expansion – but, as players wear-down on the COD brand, in favor of other upcoming military FPS games, it’s only a matter of time before the publisher is going to have to rely on more than just throwaway posters and sight-unseen buzz to keep their game at the top of the best sellers list.

Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 8, 2011 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
