Some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players want changes made to sniper scope glint, which is intended to reveal the location of a player zooming into a sniper rifle's scope. Changes to sniper scope glint may promote a fair gameplay experience for all players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 going forward.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 is well underway, and Season 2 is approaching in February 2023. A new season provides Infinity Ward with an opportunity to adjust the meta and the game's multiplayer content. For instance, Infinity Ward addressed major game-breaking bugs in Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 while reintroducing the fan-favorite Shipment map during the holiday season. Modern Warfare 2 players continue to call for more changes that could improve the game leading into Season 2. One of the changes being demanded by players involves sniper rifle's scope glint, which has recently proved to be a major issue for some in Season 1.

Players from the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit are demanding changes to the sniper scope glint due to its obstructive blinding effect. Instead of a brief glimmer to indicate a sniper's location, the sniper scope causes a bright light that may obstruct entire pathways like a flashbang grenade. As a result, players are caught off guard by the glint while enemy snipers are given the advantage in a gunfight. Reddit user u/Vdubnub88 is calling for Infinity Ward to address sniper scope glint soon, prompting hundreds of Modern Warfare 2 players to chime in with their own experiences and opinions on the matter.

In prior Call of Duty titles, the sniper scope's glint was less pronounced, allowing snipers to maintain a measure of stealth. Enemy players were still able to spot the sniper's glint from a distance, so the experience was more fair and balanced toward both sides. In Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, the scope glint completely masks a sniper's location from a long distance. As a result, the glint is more distracting and infuriating for some players rather than being helpful in locating and flanking an enemy sniper.

It will be interesting to see if Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward address the sniper scope glint before Season 2 arrives in Modern Warfare 2 this February. The new season is a great opportunity for the developers to fix the game's lingering problems while encouraging players to look forward to new maps and modes in Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 players want larger team playlists similar to the popular Ground War as well. These desired changes are ultimately up to Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward, but the player base will continue to make its demands known online.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
