The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently holding a beta test for gamers who have preordered the title, and players have noticed an odd glitch that allows some enemies to see through smoke. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 follows 2019's Modern Warfare, and the beta has let fans get a feel for the next installment in the franchise. The gameplay shows some classic Call of Duty mechanics that fans have come to know and love, as well as new maps and weapons. The glitches, however, demonstrate that the title isn't quite ready yet.

The Modern Warfare 2 beta has many modes and maps for players to enjoy, including the original MW Invasion mode. Of course, the came is still roughly a month away from launch, and so a few bugs are expected. As such, it should come as no surprise that some players have discovered a glitch that allows them to see through smoke when aiming down certain scopes.

Reddit user GT-Ranz recently posted a video to the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit that shows a player aiming down sights at a patch of smoke, only for the entire cloud to disappear. The smoke didn't only dissipate from around the lens, but from the screen as a whole. While the issue may be annoying, it isn't a gameplay deterrent. Rather, it seems to expose the fact that the next Call of Duty game isn't quite ready yet. The glitch certainly isn't as bad as the hackers that ruined Modern Warfare 2 matches.

Indeed, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has some problems to overcome before its release in October. Fortunately, Infinity Ward seems dedicated to delivering a quality title. In addition, little is known about Modern Warfare 2's campaign, though the MW games are known for their visceral and fun stories. One of the few details players know about the upcoming campaign is that it will take place three years after the events of its 2019 predecessor.

Fans will have a lot of Call of Duty content to focus on in the next few months, with both Modern Warfare and Warzone 2's first season set to be released, and that is certainly something to celebrate. While it would be better to see everything running smoothly with the current beta, players can hope for a successful release and a lot of great content to come.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
