Sony has recently become more comfortable in letting some of its previously PlayStation exclusive titles venture onto other platforms. PlayStation's signature titles like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and more have recently been ported and optimized for PC. Thanks to a new job listing, another slightly unexpected game may soon be heading to PC: MLB The Show.

The pinnacle baseball videogame franchise made its multiplatform debut when MLB: The Show 21 was released on the Xbox via Game Pass in 2021 where it managed to be one of the most popular games on the platform in the month it was released. The MLB, who reportedly pushed for The Show's inclusion onto Xbox consoles, may now be looking to slide onto other spaces and further attract interest to a younger and more diverse market.

According to a job listing, PlayStation is looking to hire Quality Assurance (QA) testers specifically for MLB The Show. The description for a "Baseball Test Analyst" calls for persons that are knowledgable in the sport of Baseball and in the MLB: The Show franchise to apply for the position. Buried within the job requirements is a line that specifies that the applicants must have a "Basic to intermediate understanding of networking setup and hardware, as well as how its principles and components apply to modern console, PC, and mobile gaming/functionality."

The post not only mentions PC but mobile as well. An MLB: The Show game running on mobile devices is an exciting proposition as the game's simplistic control scheme and the power that phones are capable of may translate well onto mobile devices. Further expansion onto new platforms bodes well for Sony who saw big returns on the game's inclusion of the Xbox platform. MLB The Show's Diamond Dynasty mode is primed for mobile with a potential "free-to-play" offering for that platform.

The decision to add another formerly exclusive title also falls in line with Sony finally embracing a move onto the PC platform. Its recent announcement of the PlayStation PC label will allow Sony to develop games for PC more comfortably than it has in the past. With other games like God of War and Days Gone already under the PlayStation PC banner, Sony's crown jewel sports title would help round out the company's roster. It's still early in the game on whether or not MLB: The Show will make it to PC or mobile. An official announcement for next year's iteration shouldn't come before the MLB's Spring Training.

MLB: The Show 21 is out now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
