MLB The Show 21 fans that want to efficiently upgrade a ballplayer will need to put their efforts toward progressing through Archetype Programs. This progression is tied to the completion of a variety of tasks, which can be seen by accessing "View Program" from the Loadout menu, though there appears to be a bug that is currently affecting their tracking. Indeed, some players are finding that their Road to the Show Program missions are getting stuck in MLB The Show 21, and this guide will detail a workaround for the issue.

After confirming that a Road to the Show mission is not progressing as it should be, players should navigate to the main menu and access MLB The Show 21's Diamond Dynasty game mode. From here, fans should select "Manage Squad" and confirm that the created ballplayer is in their lineup. If they are not, then players should select the card that is associated with their ballplayer's primary position and then pick their specific card from the new menu that appears.

At this point, fans should move their created ballplayer in MLB The Show 21 to the lead spot in the lineup, which can be done on the right side of the screen, and then exit out of "Manage Squad." They should then tab over to the "Play" tab in Diamond Dynasty, choose "Single Player Modes," and select "Play Vs CPU." Players should now pick a random team, choose "Away" in the "Play As" menu, and click through the rest of the options to start the game.

Once the game has loaded, fans should simply play through their created ballplayer's first at bat, pause, and exit. They should then return to MLB The Show 21's Road to the Show mode and enter a new game. At the end of that game, players should once again check their missions in "View Program," and they should discover that the task that was stuck previously is now tracking properly.

To note, it is very possible that there are other ways to fix this glitch, and indeed MLB The Show 21 players may well find a less tedious approach in the coming days. Additionally, developer San Diego Studios will undoubtedly address this bug in a future update and fully eliminate the need for any sort of workaround. Until one of those things occurs, though, fans will hopefully be able to get their RTTS progression back on track with the help of Diamond Dynasty.

MLB The Show 21 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
