Sony has recently mentioned some of the new additions to the All-Star Week festivities in MLB 10: The Show. In addition to playing in the All-Star Game (as you could in MLB 09), you can now play the All-Star Futures Game and start swinging in the Home Run Derby.

While playing the franchise mode you'll also be able to participate as either the US or World teams in the All-Star Futures Game. In addition, you'll be able to choose which players you want to enter into the Home Run Derby, and have the abilty to fast forward past computer controlled players. Of course, you'll still be able to play the standard All Star Game.

Should you choose to play the Road To The Show mode - you'll also have access to the Futures Game and Home Run Derby, however in this mode, as with the rest of Road To The Show, you can only play as your created player.

Make sure to check out the new trailer, which features footage and info on the new All-Star offerings, after the jump:

Home Run Derby has been one of the big ommisions from The Show the last couple of years. Its good to see that this mode finally made it.

I can't wait to get out there and start knocking some balls out of the park. The All-Star Futures Game will be an added bonus to what is looking like a phenomenal title for baseball fans on the PS3.

Are you ready for opening day in MLB 10: The Show? Who are you going to try out the Home Run Derby with first?

MLB 10: The Show kicks off March 2nd for the PS3, PSP, and PS2.
