The subject of Mortal Kombat 11's character roster has been of great interest to fans of the series for several months now, producing countless leaks, rumors, and even a petition for Shaggy to be made a playable character. Yet, despite all the noise, Mortal Kombat 11 continues to gradually reveal its roster one character at a time, leaving fans with no choice but to wait patiently for official news. After Jade was officially revealed last month, it's now being confirmed that Noob Saibot and Shang Tsung will be returning for the Mortal Kombat series' 11th entry.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Twitter account formally brought fan-favorite Noob Saibot to the fold with a gameplay-heavy reveal trailer. The footage shows Noob Saibot fighting against a variety of Mortal Kombat staples, showing off combos, special moves, and an appropriately cringe-inducing fatality.

Furthermore, Shang Tsung has simultaneously been revealed as Mortal Kombat 11's first DLC character. Confirmed at C2E2 Expo in Chicago, the MK boss will be based on the same character from the 1995 live-action Mortal Kombat film, played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. Even better, Tagawa will actually be reprising his role as Shang Tsung in-game for Mortal Kombat 11. Unfortunately, Shang Tsung gameplay footage has yet to be seen at the time of this writing.

Due to a heavy flow of relatively convincing leaks coming out in recent months, many of the new character reveals have already been anticipated. After what appears to be a screenshot of the entire Mortal Kombat 11 roster, a leak surfaced that seems to confirm Noob Saibot, Erron Black, and other characters to the roster. Still, nothing is set in stone until NetherRealm Studios confirms their addition itself.
