Mortal Kombat 11 Reveals New Character, Cetrion

mortal kombat 11 cetrion new character reveal

Due to the fact that Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the most anticipated video games of 2019, many are likely looking forward to the release of the fighting game later this month. In the build-up to its release, developer NetherRealm Studios has confirmed returning characters such as Jax, Noob Saibot, and Erron Black, while also confirming a new character known as Geras. Now, the developer has given players a small glimpse at a new character joining the fight named Cetrion.

For Geras, we know that his powers can manipulate time and sand, but almost nothing is currently known about Cetrion. Her powers appear to be nature-based, as her Mortal Kombat 11 reveal trailer shows her using powers based on earth, fire, water, and more. This trailer not only showcases this new character, but it likely goes a long way in building hype, as her trailer all but confirms a prior leak.

This Mortal Kombat 11 full roster leak previously showed Cetrion on the top of the character select screen, with other characters who were unconfirmed at the time. Noob Saibot and Jax, for example, are two characters who recently been confirmed who have a slot on this list (even if it just their shortened name). Whether this leak is 100% remains to be seen, but if so, that means some staple characters could also be missing.

It's also worth mentioning that the Mortal Kombat 11 achievement/trophy list has also leaked, containing an achievement which requires players to perform 2 different fatalities with various characters. Cetrion is included, with hers being titled "Balanced." It seems as if this is connected to some natural balance that perhaps Cetrion is protecting, but until more lore is revealed, that's all speculation.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release in three weeks, with players able to pick it up on the PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Beyond new characters, it seems likely that Babalities will return (due to a tease from Ed Boon himself) and Animalities in some form, too, as a "Bug-Vorah" is mentioned in the achievement list.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019, for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
