With Mortal Kombat 11 set to debut in just a few days from now, NetherRealm Studios recently chose to put out MK11's launch trailer in order to incentivize potential players to pick up the forthcoming fighting game upon release. Now, the developer has decided to offer up a look at some of the alternative skins available for Erron Black, Shao Kahn, Raiden, and Cetrion so as to display how the title will be able to stay fresh with fans by providing different costumes for characters.

According to NetherRealm Studios' Lead Character Artist, Brendan George, Mortal Kombat 11 hosts a lot of great character skins, but to him, the alternate costumes for Erron Black, Shao Kahn, Raiden, and Cetrion found further below are some of his favorites. Based on the variant looks he's shared for these characters, it seems as if George has a penchant for color palettes that include different shades of red, black, and gold.

As explained by George, one of NetherRealm Studios' primary objectives when it came to the visual designs of Mortal Kombat 11's characters was to ensure that MK11's full roster would be "easier to read during gameplay". With this being the case, the Lead Character Artist helped to make certain each and every character would be able to be seen distinctively on-screen during combat by using "bold confident shapes and rich color".

As previously mentioned, MK11 ought to have a bunch of different costumes on-hand for the game's playable cast, with character customization being a major feature of the forthcoming fighting game. This is the case due to NetherRealm Studios taking inspiration from its title Injustice 2 by giving Mortal Kombat 11 a custom gear system that will allow one to create unique variations of their favorite characters.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see how many different outfits players will be able to conjure up in Mortal Kombat 11 thanks to the game's gear system, for as George implies, Shao Kahn alone has a wide variety of helmets one can have the warlord wear, along with other gear pieces as well. Thankfully, we won't have to wait too much longer to find out just how in-depth character customization in the game is going to be since MK11 drops next week.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
