Mission: Impossible 7 director Christopher McQuarrie kept the film's excitement building by posting a new photo on social media. In the new image, fans are able to get a glimpse of Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell's characters in action.

Mission: Impossible 7 seeks to expand on its predecessors' success by offering fans plenty of thrilling sequences involving IMF agent Ethan Hunt and his crew. McQuarrie, whose crew wrapped up filming at Birmingham New Street, posted the new Mission: Impossible 7 photo to celebrate the hard work on set and show appreciation for the crew's dedication to making the best film possible.

In the newly released black and white photo, Cruise's Hunt and Atwell's Grace stare off in the distance, teasing that something dangerous is yet to come. Atwell's character is still under wraps, but it looks like the actress will play an important role in Grace, an ambiguous individual with questionable loyalties. Originally set to be filmed back-to-back with Mission: Impossible 8, MI7's plot may be setting up the events of a possible finale of the entire franchise, making the stakes feel even higher for these characters.

McQuarrie has been constantly sharing many behind-the-scenes looks at the upcoming film on Instagram during its whole production so far, whether it'd be of the crew and cast or some of the incredible locations. Along with thanking the staff at Grand Central, Birmingham, McQuarrie gave a special thanks to the background artists and the people of Birmingham, writing "Without your support, it would have been impossible.”

As the Mission: Impossible franchise has progressed, the stunts, which have been mainly performed by Cruise himself, continue to grow in scale. McQuarrie has shared many of the stunts that await the seventh chapter, posting pictures of characters either jumping off motorcycle ramps in the mountains or fighting enemies on top of a moving train. Being the 7th film in the franchise, it's clear that McQuarrie and the rest of the team are striving to pull off some of the best action sequences in the Mission: Impossible series.

Also joining Cruise and Atwell in the 7th entry will be Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as llsa Faust, Henry Czerny reprising his role as Eugene Kittridge, Oscar nominee Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mistopolis, Esai Morales as the film's main antagonist, and Cary Elwes and Pom Klementieff in undisclosed roles.

Mission: Impossible 7 is set to premiere on May 27, 2022, and will be available to stream on Paramount Plus 45 days after its initial release.
